House Rules

We’re here to provide as much (or as little) input as you need. We’ll greet you when you arrive, of course. After that, we’re 100% guided by you. Remember, if you have questions or concerns at any time during your stay, we’re only a call or text message away.

We’ve worked hard to create a beautiful space for guests to relax, unwind and enjoy our town. You are in the heart of a close-knit community and we are committed to maintaining the peace and tranquillity of the neighbourhood.

Parking

The City of Albany limits us to driveway parking only. Please don’t park on the street or verge, this is rigorously policed by both the City of Albany.

If you’re staying in The Cottage, there is ample parking on the vacant block next door. You’re welcome to use this for your vehicles, boats etc.

Supplies

Your accommodation will be fully stocked when you arrive. Please let us know if anything needs to be restocked.

Smoking

Samphire Collection properties are strictly non-smoking, both inside and out. If you smoke, please do so off the property and remove your rubbish.

Parties and visitors

THE COTTAGE:

You’re welcome to invite friends over for a drink or a meal but there is to be no more than 10 people in the house at one time as this is the number we are licensed to host. Please let us know if you are having guests and keep the noise levels low. Please respect the neighbours by not playing music outside.

If visitors stay the night, guests will be charged for extra bedding at a fee of $50 per person each night, as outlined in booking fees. If possible, please make arrangements in advance.

THE STUDIOS:

The View Street Studios are equipped for a maximum of two adults.

Noise and the neighbourhood

Please respect our neighbours: ensure there is no noise after 10pm in the garden and keep noise levels inside the house low after this time.

Laundry

The washing machine and dryer are for your use, but please don’t wash the towels or sheets provided. You’re on holiday! If you are staying for a week or longer, or if you simply need fresh towels, additional linen can be supplied.

The Garden

We hope you enjoy the outdoor spaces.

The Cottage: The pond in the back garden is covered by a grill but is still a hazard for young children. Please always keep them supervised outdoors. You are welcome to use the BBQ, but please clean it after use. We try to keep the gas bottle full but please let us know if you run out and we will replace it.

Garbage, FOGO and recycling

We have three rubbish bins parked in the driveway. The small bin with the red lid is for landfill rubbish. The large bin with the yellow lid is for recycling of glass, hard plastics, paper and cardboard. The large black bin with the green lid is our FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) and is for all food and garden waste. Please use the FOGO bags provided which are made from cornstarch and fully compostable.

Pets

Pets are welcome in The Cottage. Please keep pets off the couches and keep your dog on a leash in the garden (for the chickens’ sake!). Our $50 once-off fee per pet covers the extra cleaning involved to clean up doggy hair and polish nose prints off the glass doors. Please pick up after your dog before you leave. Please be aware that there is no shelter outside for your dog. Please only leave your dog unattended in the house if you know they are well toilet trained and not going to fret and bark in your absence.

Damages and breakages

We understand that crockery and glassware breaks from time to time. Please let us know if that happens so we can replace items for our next guests. For anything more substantial, you may be billed for damage to property and contents. If accidents happen, PLEASE let us know so we can keep our properties safe and beautiful for future guests.

Checking out

Checkout is by 10am on the day of departure. The key should be left in the lock box by the front door.
